Rassistisches Profiling: Bundesgericht bestätigt Urteil im Fall «Wa Baile»

Am 7. März 2018 bestätigte das Bundesgericht die Verurteilung von Mohamed Wa Baile durch das Zürcher Obergericht. Wa Baile hatte sich im Februar 2015 im Rahmen einer polizeilichen Personenkontrolle am Zürcher Hauptbahnhof geweigert, sich auszuweisen, weil er die Kontrolle als rassistisch empfunden hatte. In seinem Entscheid verwirft das Bundesgericht alle vorgebrachten Rügen der Verteidigung. Die Vorinstanz habe ihr Urteil hinreichend begründet, eine willkürliche Beweiswürdigung sei nicht gegeben. In a new judgment, the Inter-American Court of Human Rights (IACtHR) condemned the use of racial profiling in the 1996 arrest of José Delfín Acosta Martínez, a Black man who then died after being badly injured in police custody.
