, can I help you? Not knowing who she is or what she was tlnikag about I said, pardon me? She tells me that I’m on school property and the other teachers(who I noticed where all white) are wondering why I’m sitting here and tells me that I have to leave. So I left. The thing is, I’ve lived in this neighborhood for over 25 years and I know for a fact that the place I was sitting is NOT ON SCHOOL PROPERTY. In fact it’s probably a good 200 plus yards away from school property with another 100 yards of actual school property before reaching the spot where I could see the other teachers were standing and looking at me. So basically, she walked 300 yards, 3 FOOTBALL FIELDS away to make me leave. And I found it very interesting that they sent the only black teacher to approach me.So yes, some people are going to say, but how do you know that it’s because you’re black. The truth is, you don’t. You can never be 100 percent sure if race played a part in things like this. But I would say based on my experiences that more likely than not, race was involved. While they’re holding people who look like me under suspicion, guys like Jerry Sandusky are allowed to operate with the full benefit of the doubt.
