Race Forward Statement on the Killing of George Floyd

With rage and grief, Race Forward calls for justice for George Floyd—an innocent and unarmed Black man who was killed on Monday May 25, by white Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin. Video shows Chauvin pinning Floyd to the ground with his knee to Floyd’s neck for eight minutes, while Floyd repeatedly stated that he could not breathe, and that Chauvin was hurting him.
